Brilliant Blue Night Sky in New York

Info from Licensor: "It was on 12/27/2018 at 9:09 pm when we noticed weird blue lights and a loud hum at LaGuardia, NYC. NYPD confirmed an apparent transformer explosion at a power plant as the cause. This looked like a scene from The Day The Earth Stood Still, X-Files or Cloverfield. The entire NYC sky turned teal blue and stayed like this for over 3 minutes, and then abruptly, like in X-Files, the lights were gone.
LGA airport was shut down briefly. Fun fact - NYPD 43rd Precinct @NYPD43Pct tweeted 'We assure you ???????????? have not landed in the #Bronx.'"
