Beautiful Whale Breaches in Monterey Bay

Occurred on November 25, 2018 / Monterey, California, USA

Info from Licensor: "Two days ago, aboard the Sea Goddess whale watching boat, I was able to capture video of this beautiful humpback whale breach. This occurred along the southern rim of the canyon in the Monterey Bay (California, USA) on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 at 2:10 pm Pacific time. I saw the whale blow air and then watched it’s tail as it dove and disappeared under the water. I took a guess at where it might eventually come up again and was lucky enough to be facing the exact location of the breach with the video recording on my phone. We only saw two big breaches that day during our entire time on our whale watching tour. The breach in this video was the first one I had ever seen in my life and I happened to catch it on video! In watching this video, you’re watching a very special first time life experience right along with me. You can even catch a pretty good glimpse of most of the underside of the whale’s tail. Our guide told us that the pattern on the underside of the whale’s tail is as unique to each whale as our fingerprints are. Perhaps someone will recognize the pattern on this whale’s tail. I keep watching this over and over again and reliving that extraordinary moment. I’m glad I can share this moment with people around the world. Enjoy!"
