Cars Won't Start After Filling Up

Occurred on June 1, 2018 / Chicago, Illinois, USA

Info from Licensor: "I went to a gas station proceeded to put some gas in my car. I noticed there was a tanker truck at the station but I pretty much didn't pay any attention to it. There was also a few other cars in the service station filling up. I started my car and proceeded forward to exit the gas station and my car started shaking really badly and shut off. The other cars also wouldn't start at all so now we all sitting there wondering what is going on. We left our cars sitting blocking the exits and went inside the gas station to tell the gas station attendant what just happened. We agreed that we should get the police involved just in case he doesn't want to cooperate with what we were going to do about ours cars. When the police finally showed up the were pretty nonchalant about the situation but after the police talked to the attendant he came back out to talk to the tanker truck driver and they were discussing something about the gas. I saw the driver put some gel on the end of a brown measuring stick and he inserted back in the ground and it came out pinkish, the tanker driver said is has water in the tank underground. The owner is going to pay for our gas we put in our cars , the tow and whatever maintenance it will cost for us to fix our vehicles."
