These intrepid adventurers live, travel, and explore the world on their sailing boat, and they had a close encounter with one of nature's most fearsome predators while exploring Pelican Island (also known as Pellcane Island), a small, uninhabited island located about 400 kilometers (249 miles) north of Cairns, Australia. The crocodile in the video is estimated to be between 3 and 3.5 meters (9.8 and 11.5 feet) in length, and while male saltwater crocodiles have been recorded at lengths of 23 feet (7 m), they typically range from 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet) in length. Saltwater crocodiles are the largest living reptiles and can weigh over 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds).
