Returning 60 Snapping Turtle Hatchlings to the Wild

Occurred on August 28, 2018 / Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

Info from Licensor: "One day an adult female Common Snapping Turtle was trying to find the perfect nest site to lay her eggs when she was hit by a car as she crossed a road. She was rushed to WildCare Foundation for emergency care. Unfortunately, the injuries were too severe to survive but we could surgically remove her eggs. They were carefully placed in a turtle egg incubator and after several months 60 eggs hatched. After a week of adjusting to life, they were released around a lake in central Oklahoma only a few miles from where the mother was hit."
