Info from Licensor: "We were aware of recent black bear activity throughout Vermont’s Mad River Valley. The pandemic had reduced the transient population which allowed the bears to have far fewer interactions with people so they had become very comfortable foraging near homes. My wife saw the mama bear crossing the road with her 3 cubs directly in front of our house and shouted her me to grab my phone or camera. I immediately saw the cubs but couldn’t see their mother which made me nervous. Then I heard a loud noise at our bear-proof dumpster and saw this huge bear on top, trying to pry the lid open. She eventually gave up and slid down the front of the dumpster and joined her waiting cubs at the edge of our yard. She stopped and stared directly at me and I thought 'oh boy...time to go!' I turned to go inside and said 'get in the house, get in the house!!'. The whole bear family went into the adjacent woods and moved on."
