Info from Licensor: On September 4, 2021, Zuniga was driving in her SUV along with her 15-year-old daughter who was in the front seat, and her 5-year-old son who was sitting in the backseat in his car seat. While waiting at a red light at a busy intersection, Zuniga was in the direct crossfire of a rolling gang shootout. Her vehicle began catching many bullets and then they shot out her back window while bullets continued to hit inside of her SUV. She then ran the red light hoping no oncoming vehicles hit her car as she was turning left through the red light. Even while she was turning, her vehicle was still being hit by bullets. One of the bullets was an AK rifle that hit Zuniga McGee's front driver's door and missed her by an inch. Once she made the turn, she saw through her rearview mirror another car turn behind her. At that point, Zuniga didn't know if that car was one of the shooters and if she was a target. As the car quickly came upon her SUV, she slammed on her breaks unexpectedly so that the car was forced to go around her. Thankfully Zuniga nor her two kids were hit by any of the bullets. Her running the red light also help save their lives. They all are severely traumatized and suffer from PTSD and anxiety but are receiving therapy and help. The 15-year-old daughter was so grateful to live through this traumatic event and celebrate her sweet 16 birthday just 3 days after the shooting on the 7th, and she also got baptized on the 22nd. The 5-year-old is doing good but is trying hard to get past this as well. He asks questions like "Why did this happen?" "Will they shoot up our new car?" He also said "I couldn't duck because I was in my car seat. It was so loud!" Unfortunately, a 13-year-old boy in the vehicle behind them died in that same crossfire. They caught several of the shooters and will charge them with the murder of the 13-year-old boy and attempted murder of Zuniga McGee and her 2 kids along with a few other innocent bystanders. It was nothing but God that Zuniga and her 2 kids survived being in the crossfire of a gang shootout!
