Info from Licensor: "On Oct 13th, NWC received a call regarding a grounded adult bald eagle. The eagle proved hard to catch, and couldn’t seem to gain height when attempting to fly. Once at the center, he received a full exam, which revealed a very feisty bird of good weight, with no obvious injuries. This bird was soaking wet after catching a fish. A full crop and wet feathers are certainly capable of keeping a bird grounded. We then tested his flight capabilities in our large eagle flight aviary. Overnight, he was able to fully dry his feathers and digest his evening meal. He was able to sustain flight in our aviary. After a check-up, this eagle was ready to be returned back into the wild."
