Info from Licensor: "It was an unnaturally warm day for Banff National Park (roughly 5°c valley bottom ). We normally experience arctic colds in this part of Alberta all winter, but every now and then we experience a Chinook wind. I was on my way back to Banff around 12:20 MST on Hwy 1. Heading westward from Canmore, I saw a plume of snow dust near the top of Cascade Mountain. An avalanche had started! I followed it down and it got close to the top of Cascade falls (popular ice climbing spot). The snow started over the icefalls, so I started the video. We pulled off the highway to the nearby parking lot, jumped out and continued to video the avalanche. It all lasted close to 10 minutes. No injuries were reported."
