Info from Licensor: "It was a Saturday, and I had no plans, so I decided to walk my dog by the lake near my house in Whitehall. We were experiencing a rare sunny day and a bit of a thaw, despite it being January in Michigan.
I was enjoying the sun and listening to a podcast at full volume when I thought I heard a strange noise. I took the headphones off and began looking around when I realized that it was coming from the lake. I approached the edge of the lake and stopped in my tracks.
The sound was coming from the ice, thin as glass, being pushed and pulled towards the shore. It's a cliche, but I truly could not believe my eyes.
I took out my phone to record it for my Instagram Story because I have a small blog about small town living and homemaking, and I thought my followers would be interested.
I recorded and watched it for about 20 minutes. I've lived near lakes in Michigan and Canada my entire life, and have never seen this phenomenon before.
Ice is one thing, but for it to push up towards shore like that was definitely an incredible sight."
