Info from Licensor: "The plane is a Cessna 152. Flying out of N40 Sky Manor Airport in NJ. The passenger door popped open right at rotation ~10ft off ground as we lifted off. I prioritized flying the plane and waited until it was at a safe altitude to close the door by opening window to equalize pressure and provide a handle to pull closed. Passenger is non-pilot rated. Was able to get the door securely closed inflight and landed shortly after to check. This is not abnormal in older small planes with this mechanism even when checked before flight. It is part of pilot training to be able to solve these types of problems. Nobody was harmed and there was no damage to the plane or property. Landed safely after."
