Info from Licensor: On May 1, 2021, we left for Hawaii to visit family as we do each year. While waiting on the tarmac for our gate in Kona our Ring Doorbell went off. I went live to see the postal inspector apologizing to our friends who were house sitting for us. He explained that his driver hit one of our garage doors with the mail truck. We have a second video of the driver calling his supervisor and telling him that he hit the garage door. The Inspector told us that the Postal Service would cover all damages. I viewed the clip and what I saw next was hard to believe. The driver never turned his truck off for one and for two, he never put it in park as he exited the vehicle with packages. Now under it’s own power, the truck was heading straight for our garage door. The rest is history. As of Nov 4th, 2021 we still have yet to be reimbursed for over $8,000.00 to replace the solid Cedar door! You are forced to go through a tort claim process to get your money back. This claim process pushes you to file a homeowners claim which we refused to do to keep our premiums from going up.
