Info from Licensor: "On Monday 5/22/2023 just before 7:30 AM, I (the homeowner) was laying in bed next to my sleeping children (ages 3 and 5) before getting up to start the morning routine. I received an alert on my phone from my Ring Doorbell app that someone was at my front door and it showed a snapshot picture of a man running towards the house. Initially, I thought this person needed help, but that instantly changed when I heard how aggressively he began beating on the door. I jumped up and immediately engaged the indoor security lock on our back door, next to where my children were sleeping. Seconds later, I see the man's shadow through the blinds and he is there, attempting to break through the back door. Luckily he leaves and I call the police. I started frantically trying to get myself dressed and explain to the 911 dispatcher what is happening; they informed me the police would be there shortly. Moments after we ended the call, the man came back. He began throwing his entire body against the front door, and I urgently felt the need to do something at this point. I was on the other side of the door when I thought I heard him say he would shoot me in the head, so I duck away and yell to him to leave and that I'd called the police. He leaves, and I answer a call from my husband - he began to yell to me, 'HE HAS A MACHETE, HE HAS A MACHETE!'. Throughout the entire ordeal, I had no idea the man was attacking my house with a machete and how absolutely dire the situation really was. The police arrived soon after, and thankfully the man was still nearby and was arrested on site. The police detected drug use (probably meth), and the man told the police that he believed someone was terrorizing him and that his girlfriend was kidnapped in our home. He is currently still in jail as he's had prior domestic violence charges against the said girlfriend, fighting police, driving with alcohol, and was still on probation for these incidents."
