Occurred: February 6, 2017 / Grand Ronde River, Troy, Oregon, USA
Info from Licensor: "My boyfriend and I went for a drive to check the river to see if we could fish it. Upon reaching the river, my boyfriend noticed a bunch of ice up river. At a closer glance, he realized it was on the move. We hurried down to the Screen bridge. Before we even got there, the river had significantly grew in volume and picked up speed topping out at 12 mph and reaching just shy of the road we were on. Nervous as ever, we approached the bridge and I began to film a flash flood of ice and slush. Just moments later, and to my surprise, three whitetail deer were swept down river on large chunks of ice. My heart sank at that moment because I knew there was nothing I could do to save them. I had to stop filming. A few seconds later my boyfriend and I drove down river to try and catch up with the deer to see if any got out. To our surprise, two of the three deer made it out about 400 yards down river. We looked around for the third deer but couldn't find it so we headed down river in search of it. We located it about a half mile down river, still on a chunk of ice. We tracked it for another 3 miles we lost sight of it because of too much debris. We never saw it again but hoped it made it out somewhere along the way."
