Info from Licensor: "Wait for me, mum! An adult green sea turtle returns to the ocean after laying her eggs whilst at the same time a green turtle hatchling takes its first steps toward the ocean from its nest. This video was filmed on Wilson Island, a small coral cay located just north of the Tropic of Capricorn on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. This was filmed in January which is the time of year that adult sea turtles return to the beaches they were originally born at to lay their own nests. This season typically runs from November to March. The nests will typically hatch in around 11 weeks and this occurs between December and May. January is the perfect time to visit Wilson Island or any other publicly accessible island on the southern GBR because you will get a crossover of hatchlings making their way from their nests and adults still laying their eggs. This video was honestly perfect timing because this adult turtle was making her way back to the ocean at the same time a few hatchlings made their way out of their nest: it made it look like the hatchling was chasing its mother, however, there is no way that these two are related as their adult turtle had only just finished laying and this hatchling would have been laid about 11 weeks prior. Still, don’t let the truth ruin a good story, it still looks like a beautiful moment between a mother and child."
