Info from Licensor: "I was on a Sunday morning bike ride from Melbourne to the top of Mount Dandenong. It was a 120km training ride preparing for the Masters World Championships which is in Italy in 6 weeks. Near the top of the mountain, I did a right turn at Ridge Road. A car was exiting from a car parking area onto the Dandenong Tourist Road as I commenced to turn right. Although I was going slow, there was plenty of time for me to clear the intersection before this car entered the intersection. When I had nearly completed the turn, I heard the car horn honk. I was surprised to see the car suddenly do a left turn and follow me into Ridge Road rather quickly. The car had not given any indication whatsoever that it was going to turn left until it did. After the car followed me into Ridge Road, there was a longer blast of the horn behind me. I stopped to see what the problem was. The engine was being revved aggressively. Before I could say or do anything the driver then deliberately drove his car into the rear of my bike. You can see the shadow of the car's bumper hitting the shadow of the wheel of my bike. I then told him that he was on video in the hope that this would deter him from doing anything stupid. But he didn't seem to care at all. He then reversed and accelerated into me two more times while I was still astride my bike. His car hit my bike and on the third occasion it also hit my thigh. It appeared to me that he was about to run right over me. The impact caused some damage to my rear wheel. Some people who saw the incident called the police. I waited there for 15 minutes, but no police attended. In my experience, the police don't attend these road rage incidents unless an ambulance is called. I subsequently reported the incident to the police and showed them the video. The policeman didn't seem very interested and actually asked me what he could charge him with. When I said 'dangerous driving and assault with a weapon' he said that will never stick! I don't expect the police will deal with this case properly."
