Info from Licensor: "Noctilucent clouds are a rare occurring high-altitude cloud (200,000 feet) that appear over northern regions in the summer and fall. Normally they are limited to low on the horizon where the sun on the day-side of earth illuminates the under-side of the high clouds. Thanks to Fairbanks, Alaska's extreme north location, Noctilucent clouds can fill the entire sky in the late summer and fall when the sun still is not fully setting (midnight sun)!"
