Motorcyclist Runs Away From Police and Leaves Motorcycle Behind
Occured on April 16, 2016 / South Phoenix, AZ, USA
Info From Licensor: "A planned motorcycle ride call Beat The Cold was scheduled for Saturday April 16th, 2016 - Meetup time around 11AM in Glendale. We rode through all of Phoenix before the incident seen in the video happened near South Mountain. Riders were doing stand up wheelies and stunting on roads also populated by other motorists. We were being extremely ignorant of road laws, but in my opinion there were too many of us for police to do anything about the situation. There were about 60-80. Eventually about halfway through the ride, we started noticing more and more police just sitting on the side of the road watching us, but not chasing us as we continued to stunt. The pace of the ride started becoming more faster as we tried to distance ourselves from the police. Eventually our group came up to a stoplight which was backed up from traffic and one of the officers quickly tailed in behind our group, took advantage of the blockage, hopped out of his car ran up to my friend and tried to rip him off the motorcycle. After the events seen in the video, police continued to chase the rest of our group with about 5-6 squad cars. Police also took part in the driving in opposite lanes of traffic part in order to keep up with us. At one point (I have this also on film) A police squad car cuts through the middle of our group in order to stop the ride, but I flipped a u-turn and bailed out, at which point I realized there were not only that single police officer following us, but also 5 other squad cars also trying to take down motorcyclists. I evaded the police successfully and escaped quietly to a parking lot with 3 other motorcyclists (All caught on film, but not nearly as intense as the motorcycle crash scene)"
