Info from Licensor: I had found this egg in one of my tanks and set it up to incubate. It took 12 weeks! When I set the egg up, I knew who laid it but because it was laid in the water, I thought it was a lost cause so the origin of it just disappeared from my memory. I continued to watch it and make sure it was doing ok, and candled it with a bright light and saw it continued developing. The egg shape and size were pretty ambiguous, and as hatching got closer, I assumed it was one of the species of geckos I keep. My mind made this story “truth!” but one day I checked it and saw it had finally hatched. I didn’t see any baby gecko anywhere. I got a little worried but I figured it must’ve been buried in the egg hatching media. So I started the video and began digging with my finger to find the baby animal. To my genuine surprise, it was a baby musk turtle! As soon as I saw it the correct memory came back to me from months ago. The turtle is doing great! It is very healthy and happy.
