Info from Licensor: "On the evening of February 16th, two friends and I were headed out of town on snowmachines to meet up with several other friends who were waiting for us at a cabin between 60 and 70 miles outside of Nome, Alaska. We thought we had a clear window to make the journey. We were traveling with three snowmachines, one pulling a sled with extra fuel and supplies. The trip was going quite well and everything was manageable until roughly 50 miles in when we ran into these horrible conditions on the back side of Golden Gate pass. Visibility and snow drifts were so bad that we lost the trail. Reflectors and markers on the trail were completely buried, but we couldn't see far enough for them to be useful even if they were exposed. As the machines started getting stuck in the drifts, we would take turns helping dig and lift each other's machines out, but the snow was blowing and drifting so badly that as we helped one guy, the other two machines would start to get drifted in and buried as well. We continued to motivate each other forward through extreme exhaustion, and with the help of GPS and perseverance we were able to inch our way back to what we were 'pretty sure' was the road. One sled was having mechanical issues at that point, so we decided not to press on further and we headed back towards town. We finally rolled back into Nome about 5 hours after this video was taken."
