Info from Licensor: "Fiona is our senior rescued mule. We don’t know exactly what happened to her but we know she’s likely an abuse case. We got her 4 and a half years ago as a companion animal for my rescued horses.
She was fearful of us in the beginning. Afraid of sticks and brooms and she still refuses to be brushed. When we got her we also had a very senior Gordon Setter (Willow) who against all odds (mules hate dogs) became Fiona’s new best friend. It broke our hearts because we knew that our darling Willow would pass soon. Willow and Fiona were beloved friends for 4 years. Just recently, our Willow girl crossed the rainbow bridge. She was 15 and a half and even though Fiona is a senior at 20 she will live on hopefully for a long while yet.
Not long after Willow passed the same breeder that I had gotten Willow from messaged me and said, "You won’t believe this but I have had a puppy become available and I want to know if you would like her. It was only weeks after Willow passed and we were heartbroken still. But we said yes and little Isla became a part of our family. I never dreamt that it was possible for this old mule and this new puppy to become friends. I hoped and prayed they would. They were introduced and the rest is history. It’s very heartbreaking and heartwarming to see the relationship between them. It’s as odd for Fiona to love her as it is for this little pup to love a mule. But it was instant. I know Willow had a part in it all. There are so many indications that my precious Willow is a big part of this relationship.
It’s like living the movie a Dog's Purpose.
Now little Isla and sweet Fiona can grow old together."
