Military Daughter Surprises Mother After Two and a Half Years Apart

Occurred on November 25, 2021 / Albany, Georgia, USA

Info from Licensor: I am an active duty Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, currently stationed at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN. I joined the Navy at 18 and left home essentially running from childhood and teenage traumas. More can be found here on the website www.rebithofaqueen.com. I have been in counseling and dealing with said issues. In 2021 I started dating James (he is the driver of the car in the video). He lost his mom a few years ago. Throughout our dating, I would see him hurting wishing he could pick up the phone and call his mom, hug her, etc. Through his encouragement, I was able to finally swallow my pride and forgive my family. No one in my family knew I was coming home. I had my youngest daughter (not in the video) text her grandmother to ask for her address to send her a card. I video called to ensure my mom was home and see who all was there. I pretended that I was still back in TN and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving. My boyfriend (James) then plugged in the address in the GPS and we headed over. I called my sister Daisy Bradford (who recorded the video) and told her that I was 10 mins away from the house and to not let my mom know. I asked if she could record the reunion. What you see in the video is my mom, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, along with three kids my mom currently fosters out in the yard. My sister attempts to throw everyone off pretending she didn't know who it was pulling up. When I stepped out of the car my mom immediately turned, ran, and jumped in my arms. Shortly after hugging me she pulls her shoe off and begins spanking me for tricking her. She then runs over to my boyfriend and hugs him (she was his Sunday school teacher many years ago, his mom was also mine many years ago. We both grew up in the same hometown). The biggest message I would like to deliver from this video is there is power in FORGIVENESS! I harbored many emotional wounds for many years. This reunion lifted a huge weight off my shoulder. It had been over 2.5 yrs since I had physically seen my mom and my other family members.
