Man Holds World's Most Venomous Spider

Occurred on June 12, 2017 / Surrey, UK

Info from Licensor: "The Brazilian Wandering Spider is one of the world's most venomous spiders, causing several deaths a year. It has a neurotoxin more potent than any other spider. This genus is endemic to Central and South America, with the most casualties coming from Brazil. The genus in this video, Phoneutria fera, shows in the Guinness book of world records as the most venomous spider from 2008 onwards. The LD50 of this species is 0.006 mg/kg. This spider also appears in the media every other week, whenever a bunch of bananas shows a partial egg sac or piece of webbing. 99% of the time these have been misidentified as Brazilian Wandering Spiders when in fact they are harmless spiders coming from the same area. This video shows a male and female Wandering spider on bare skin, under certain conditions, proving that these spiders aren't always the mindless killers the media would have you believe. This video should not be replicated, and any handling of these spiders may result in serious illness or death."
