Info from Licensor: "At the end of our younger son’s Sports Day, the ‘traditional’ parents’ races took place. I’m a full-time wheelchair user with an advanced, progressive disease, multiple sclerosis. I have a smorgasbord of symptoms. Physically, my right arm still works OKish, my left arm poorly, my legs not at all. I am on a chemo (or placebo) trial to slow progress.
I want our two boys to love me, be proud of me, be empathetic. And for the wider audience, I want to be seen enjoying life.
This video was filmed last week at Beechwood Park School by Toby. You can hear his vocal support on the video.
I feel the rowdy cheering from all the children shows very clearly that judgement and prejudice only comes later in life.
I cried happy tears when I finished (very last).
For info, tomorrow marks the start of disability pride month."
