Cougar in Copper Ridge Catches Deer

Occurred on August 6, 2017 / Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada

Info from Licensor: "I went outside to check on watering some plants and went back inside to get my watering pail. About 2 minutes later I heard the scream from the deer and quickly looked outside and at first thought it was 2 deer fighting. When I went to the back door to get a better look, I realized that it was a cougar on the deer 10 feet from our back door and that's when I proceeded to start filming the incident. I watched it as it killed the deer and started to drag in off down the steps, and behind the shed. As I watched from our window we tapped on the window to get the cougars attention. After watching for awhile we later shot a bear banger to chase the cougar away. The cougar did return to start feeding on the deer. A bear came to check out the kill but with the cougar there the bear just sat on the lawn patiently waiting. We shot the bear banger a second time to chase the bear and cougar away. The conservation officer came later that evening to check things out and to take the deer away."
