Great White Sharks Battle over Dolphin for Dinner

Occurred on August 15, 2018 / Smoky Bay, South Australia, Australia

Info from Licensor: "At around 7:30 am myself, my nephew Jai and another worker Rhodesy, were on our way to my oyster lease when we saw a grey fin in the distance. We assumed it was one of the many dolphins we see on a weekly basis. After a few moments though, we realized the fin was that of a shark and raced over to investigate. When we arrived at the scene a great white shark was attacking a dolphin and killed it. We spooked the shark a little bit and it went under the surface leaving the dolphin bobbing on the surface of the water. The shark then resurfaced and began circling the dolphin for a while before grabbing it and swimming past the back of the boat. We estimated the shark to be 10ft in length. He then swam alongside us as my other two workers approached on my other oyster barge. As we were admiring the shark with its kill, a second bigger shark approximately 12.5ft long, suddenly appeared from under our boat and chased the smaller shark away. In just a moment he stole the dolphin and took a couple of big bites into it as it passed under our boat again. He then resurfaced near the back of the boat with the dolphin wedged deep into his jaws. He then dropped the dolphin and circled another barge before he bit into the outboard motor. At this point, we could sense the shark was becoming agitated and left the area to go to our lease only 500 meters away."
