Occurred on November 21, 2018 / Lachlan Valley, New South Wales, Australia
Info from Licensor: This appears to be a Spotted Black Snake (Pseudechis guttatus). It doesn't have an obvious red belly like a Red Belly Black Snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus). It's making a meal of an Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis). I nearly stood on the snake, thinking it was merely a piece of black plastic irrigation pipe. I'm glad I was wearing my gumboots. For interested herpetologists, today is 21st November, late afternoon, and I am in the Lachlan Valley, near Forbes, New South Wales, Australia.
