Upon completion of that job, the crew decided to patrol the surrounding area to find any other problems. That's when they stumbled across these smoking transformers. The crew notified the surrounding customers and began filming. What happened next was an anomaly. Many linemen have been working with transformers like this for years and have never seen such a catastrophic explosion like this. What caused the transformers to blow up has been widely debated, but the simple answer is that they went bad. While the crew was filming, the crew leader had called the fire department and was working on killing the circuit. The fire department wouldn't do anything until the power company could get control of the situation. Oil Spills were contained and professionally cleaned, and no one was injured."
