Info from Licensor: "Lieutenant Dan is a 1-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound. He was born with a severe defect, leaving both hind limbs and his tail deformed and unusable. He has been walking around on his front legs since 8 weeks of age and was attempting to carry the weight of his hind limbs. We adopted him at 5 months from a rescue in Florida, he was then transported to Indiana where we met them and brought him home to Ohio! His hind limbs were amputated at 6 months of age after intensive diagnostics and consult to determine if they could be corrected. Shortly after his tail had to be amputated. He is now doing great! Some of the biggest questions we get asked are if he has a wheelchair and if he can go potty normally. He does have a wheelchair that we use for hiking, long walks and when we go downtown to dog-friendly restaurants. At home and when he is swimming he goes without his wheelchair, which he prefers! Lieutenant Dan can go potty just like any other dog, just with a little more balance involved! This video is his first time visiting the beach in Florida, where we are vacationing!"
