Occurred on July 4, 2020 / Bingham, New Mexico, USA
Info from Licensor: "It was about 30 minutes after sun up while we were hiking when Gabby spotted the rattler up in the tree a hundred or so feet away. She asked me if that was a snake as I responded with, 'yes that is a rattler!' As we approached it closer, I was amazed on what we were seeing, and being such an unheard of occurrence, I pulled out my phone a started recording. A small sparrow was flapping frantically in front of the snake as if he was trying to deter his attention away from a possible nest hidden in the large mesquite tree. The snake was up high soaking up the early morning sun, but his rattler was going at high speed. We left the near 6 foot rattler unharmed with amazement."
