Music can open doors. Literally. Here's a machine that shows how. This Rube Goldberg machine took almost 1 year to build, and 2 weeks of intense troubleshooting and filming to finish. It's amazing what one crazy musician can build in his living room. I wanted to show my students that you can make a pretty fancy machine out of cardboard and popsicle sticks, straws and dowels, found objects, duct tape, and perseverance. Et voila! This video is dedicated to my last year's kindergarten class, Rm. 102, for whom I was originally building it. And to Jane, who can now have her living room back. If you have any questions, I would be delighted to answer.
