Info from Licensor: "I am a Real Estate Agent in the Columbia Valley and recent clients purchased the end unit of my townhouse complex. I advised them that they should not have any bear attractants around, including birdhouses. They felt that the birdhouse was safely out of a bear's reach, despite being told to remove it. This is bear season in the Valley while my grandkids were visiting, my grandson noticed a very 'hairy dog' outside. I ran onto the balcony and discovered it was a bear. I knew what it was after and also knew it would climb to the food source...which it did. Several residences reported this to the conservation officers, who set up a trap for it as it was returning to the area. Unfortunately, this bear is now dead and this could have been unaided if food sources were removed."
