Info from Licensor: Large Flatid Planthopper nymph strolling along a rope in Thompson Nature Park, Singapore. These nymphs possess large waxy filaments that help to conceal their bodies from predators. In addition, the filaments can be also detached from the body to distract and deter those predators. It has been observed that those large tails may act as a “parachute” to cushion their falls too.
