Info from Licensor: Just south of Luxor, Egypt, there's a small lock that Nile Cruise boats must enter to sail into Luxor. Creative local salesmen take advantage of this by packing their wooden rowboats with towels, sarongs, and dresses, rowing up to the ships, and relentlessly trying to sell things to passengers onboard who are undoubtedly congregating on the top deck to watch the lock. Their efforts are not fruitless... People on the cruises enjoy buying things from these guys as a memory from their trip. And, the salesmen are hilarious, haggling and yelling and joking with the passengers. They throw items in plastic bags up to the buyers, who in turn throw money back down either in another plastic bag or as seen here, even a water bottle. This occurred on a Nile River Cruise: https://www.adventuresnsunsets.com/nile-cruise-aswan-luxor/. More Travel Stories @kimmconn
