Info from Licensor: "A squirrel has apparently decided that our storage shed is the perfect place to use as a winter warehouse. In late October, I opened the outdoor utility shed (we live in western Pennsylvania) to find it filled with more than a hundred pounds of black walnuts. The green outer shell of the walnut is just a little smaller than a tennis ball. They were on the floor, in boxes, behind equipment. We had to use a shovel and a wheel barrow to clean out the shed (fortunately the wheel barrow was stored in the same shed and had walnuts in it, giving us a head start). While we love our squirrel neighbors, when the walnuts start to break down they leave black, moldy gunk and start to stink. So, sadly, we can't act as a winter storage facility. However, we live in an urban area and have no doubt the furry squatters will survive just fine. Next spring we'll be putting up a shed with metal siding."
