Occurred on January 2, 2023 / Everglades National Park, Florida, USA
Info from Licensor: Everglades National Park, about 5 miles from the main visitor’s center. I was with my friends Tippy and Lu headed toward Flamingo. A huge Burmese Python was on the road. With an app, Lu estimated it was about 15.2’. We didn’t run it over for safety and legal reasons, yet acknowledge it’s a huge threat to the Florida ecosystem. We hope that people will think twice before buying exotic pets such as Pythons and especially before releasing them into the wild. We documented the sighting, pinned the location, and reported it. This is exactly what FWC and The Everglades National Park would have recommended.
