Info from Licensor: "The video shows the incredible hydrophobic qualities of Icelandic eiderdown. Eiderdown is the only down in the world that the wild eider ducks leave behind after a natural molting process so no harm is done to any bird in the collection of eiderdown. Eiderdown is one of the lightest, softest and warmest materials known to man and incredibly rare as the annual supply of diamonds is tenfold that of the annual supply of eiderdown.
The person in the video is Arni Orvarsson, managing director and owner of Icelandic Eider, which specializes in making bespoke eiderdown products and everything, from nest to product, is done in house. This is a family business and has been for 78 years. Arni is a third generation eider duck caretaker.
The video was shot to portray the hydrophobic qualities of eiderdown, qualities that no other down possesses naturally. It was shot on the Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland during the nesting period of the common eider ducks in May 2023."
