Info from Licensor: "Axel is a 7-year-old morbidly obese cat that was surrendered to a local shelter at 43lbs and transferred to our animal rescue (Ferdinand and Friends Animal Rescue) in February 2024. He is currently on a medically supervised diet and has become much more mobile as he loses weight! His last weigh-in was 37lb so he is getting slimmer weekly! He will remain in the rescue for life and lives with our rescue director (that’s me!). He is on Solensia injections for arthritis and has been practicing the stairs for a month before he could finally go down on his own. When he first came to us he could only walk a few feet before flipping over for a break.
Now it’s a game for him. He loves to go down multiple times a day, and we have to carry him back up. It’s hard on the back! I took the video because he was being his silly dramatic self. Axel’s weight loss is medically supervised and monitored by two veterinary teams. He has the most amazing, joyful and kind personality with a side of dramatics. We just adore him."
