Firefighter rescued a dog from the frozen Kamienica River on 12/30/14 in Nowy Sącz, Southern Poland.
The videographer saw a firetruck parked close to a nearby footbridge, and went over to check out the scene. A strange screaming noise caused him to look down to the river, where he saw the dog trying to escape from the icy water, about 4 meters from the riverside. According to local media, dog's owner was present during the rescue. The day after, firefighters trained in winter water rescue (see link: http://www.psp-nowysacz.pl/aktualnosci.php?body=article&name=nowy-sacz-ratownictwo-lodowe&lang=pl)
