In the foothills of Taiwan, you can find giant tarantula sized Funnel Web Spiders over three times the size of their Australian counterparts, the Sydney Funnel web. These giant funnel webs can grow to around seven inches. Although unlike the Sydney Funnel Web, there has not been any recorded deaths, they do a have a nasty venom, toxic enough for a prolonged visit to the hospital. These spiders are extremely defensive and will always strike out if provoked."
