Info from Licensor: "Alfie, our springer spaniel, has recently been put on a diet to help him lose weight. One thing we decided to try was giving him carrots. Alfie is not a big fan of vegetables and wasn't quite sure what we had put in front of him. As a result, the natural conclusion for Alfie was that a carrot is some form of chew toy."
