Removing a Fish Hook from a Pelican's Mouth

Occurred on September 17, 2020 / Indian Shores, Florida, USA Info from Licensor: Seen are two rescuer's for Seaside Seabird Sanctuary, the largest not for profit Seabird Sanctuary in the US. I am removing a hook from a pelican's mouth (Misty). All of the injuries to our birds are either directly or indirectly caused by humans. We are a not for profit organization, that rescues, rehabs, and hopeful releases all wild birds in the Tampa, Fl area. This particular bird survived and was eventually released. The organization tries to do at least 1 release every month and is located on the Gulf Coast with a beach access where seabirds, such as this pelican are released directly back into their natural habitat. It's really beautiful to watch.
