Info from Licensor: This is an adult male of the phasmid (= stick insect) species Achrioptera manga. He has a shiny, blue body and little red wings which he opens to scare off predators. He can also stridulate with these wings, meaning that he can make a sort of hissing sound by rubbing them, also to scare away threats. I keep him and his conspecifics, as well as over 20 other phasmid species, at home. Under the name Phasmedia, I post content about these wonderful insects on IG, FB, YT, and TikTok.
