However, there is a rarer and lesser-known cousin, the Giant species of Funnel Web (Macrothele gigas) which grows larger than most tarantulas it can grow to over 7 inches. They live in secluded mountain regions of Taiwan and are the most aggressive spiders I have ever come across in my 20 years of breeding. They will literally attack anything even a gust of wind.
